Braywick Park
Braywick Park is a park with a local nature reserve in the Bray Wick suburb of Maidenhead, Berkshire, England.[1] The nature reserve is owned by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.[2]
Geography and site
The park is 40 hectares (99 acres) in size.[3] The nature reserve within the park is 37 acres (15 ha).[4] The park features formal parkland with trees and wildlife habitats including grassland, woodland and a pond.[2]
History
The park was originally part of the estate belonging to Braywick Lodge.[5] In 1969, the 19th century mansion was demolished, but the stables were saved and refurbished in 1989 to provide a nature centre.[5]
In 1999 the site was declared as a local nature reserve by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.[2]
