Arthur Jacob Nature Reserve
Arthur Jacob Nature Reserve is a local nature reserve in Horton, Berkshire, England.[1] The nature reserve is owned by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.[2]
Geography and site
The nature reserve is 4.6 hectares (11 acres) in size.[3] It has four lagoons, with the rest of the site being a mixture of trees, shrubs and wildflower meadows.[4]
History
The site was opened to the public in 1996 after a set of derelict sewage sludge lagoons, from gravel extraction, were converted into wetland habitats.[3][5]
In 1998 the site was declared as a local nature reserve by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.[2]
