East Garforth railway station serves Garforth in West Yorkshire, England. It lies on the Selby Line, operated by Northern 8 miles (13 km) east of Leeds. The station was opened by West Yorkshire Metro on 1 May 1987, to serve the new housing developments in the area.

The station is an unstaffed halt, and has wooden platforms with shelters on each one. It is located around 0.5 miles (800 m) from the main Garforth station, and all trains that stop at East Garforth serve Garforth as well.

Facilities

The station is fully accessible for wheelchair users, with ramps from the road to both platforms. Ticket machines are available for passengers to buy or collect pre-paid tickets prior to travel. Train running information is provided by a long line P.A system and digital display screens on each platform.[1]

Services

Monday to Saturday daytime there is a half-hourly service to Leeds with most services going beyond towards Bradford Interchange and hence to either Huddersfield or Manchester Victoria. In the evenings and Sundays the service is hourly; evening trains normally terminate at Leeds, whilst on Sundays they run to Blackpool North.[2]

Eastbound there is an hourly service to York and to Selby respectively during Monday to Saturday daytimes. Evenings and Sundays there is an hourly service to York.

Services operated by CrossCountry and TransPennine Express pass the station without stopping, as does the daily London North Eastern Railway service to /from Aberdeen.
