Cinema of Manipur

The cinema of Manipur refers to the film industry of the Manipur.

The first Manipur film, Matamgi Manipur, was released in 1972.[1] Paokhum Ama (1983) is the first Manipur colour film as certified by the CBFC and was directed by Aribam Syam Sharma. Lammei (2002) is the first Manipur digital film.[2] As the production of digital films started, the Manipur film industry got expanded and 40-50 are made each year.
