Chirag Paswan (born 31 October 1982) is an Indian politician belonging to Lok Janshakti Party. He is son of Member of Parliament and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan.[1]

He was elected as member of the 16th Lok Sabha in the 2014 Indian general election from Jamui constituency in Bihar, while his father who is president of the Lok Janshakti Party won from Hajipur constituency.[2]

Early life and acting career

Chirag has a B Tech in Computer Science.[3][4] He acted in the Bollywood movie Miley Naa Miley Hum in 2011.[5] The film failed at the box office, thereby ending his Bollywood career.[1]

Political career

Subsequently, he turned to politics and contested the 2014 elections as LJP candidate. He won the seat by defeating the nearest rival Sudhansu Shekhar Bhaskar of Rashtriya Janata Dal by over 85,000 votes.His office is situated at 12 janpath in New Delhi .He was actively seen in campaigning for his party during 2015 Bihar elections . He also owns a NGO named Chirag Paswan foundation .[2]
