Bangladesh University (BU) (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) is a for-profit, sectarian, private university located near the Jatiyo Sangshad Bhaban in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The university was established in 2001 under the Private University Act 1992.[3] The university was established in 2001 by Quazi Azher Ali.[4] He served as the founder president and first vice chancellor of the university during 2001-2009.[5]
