The F39 BMW X2 is a subcompact luxury SUV produced by BMW. It was first released as the BMW Concept X2 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show,[2] with a production version unveiled on October 2017.[3] Sales commenced in March 2018.[4][5]

Development and launch

The X2 is based on the same front-wheel drive UKL2 architecture as the BMW X1 and MINI Countryman,[6] and features the same 2,670 mm (105 in) wheelbase length. The X2 is also available with xDrive all-wheel drive on higher end models.[7]

The X2 is assembled in Regensburg, Germany and is produced alongside the BMW X1.[8]

The sDrive28i model is only available in North American markets.

Equipment

The X2 is offered in a standard, M Sport, and M Sport X trim.[9] The standard trim features cloth seats, a 6.5-inch iDrive 6.0 screen, and 17-inch wheels, while M Sport and M Sport X models have 19-inch wheels and include dynamic damper control and a 10 mm (0.4 in) lower sports suspension.[10]

Available upgrades include Dakota leather, an upgraded 8.8-inch iDrive system with touch controls, wireless charging, a heads up display, and a Driving Assistant Plus package that includes active cruise control, lane departure warning, and speed limit information.[11]

sDrive18i and 18d models are available with a 6-speed manual transmission, while sDrive18i models can be upgraded to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.[12] The rest of the model range uses an 8-speed automatic transmission.[13]
