Arizona (stylized as A R I Z O N A) is a rock and electropop band from New Jersey currently signed to Atlantic Records.[1][2][3] The band's debut studio album GALLERY was released in May 2017, peaking at #4 on Top Heatseekers, #24 on U.S. Alternative, and #143 on the Billboard 200.[4][5][6][7]

History

Band members Zachary Charles,[8] Nate Esquite, and David Labuguen met in Boston while attending Berklee College of Music and Emerson College.[2][9] During college, the three of them began working separately as songwriters and producers, before eventually moving back to their home state of New Jersey. They began making music together in 2015 and were discovered by now-manager, Jake Posner, on Reddit.[4]

A R I Z O N A was signed to Atlantic Records by Mike Caren in 2016.[10] The band released several singles that year, including "I Was Wrong", "Oceans Away," and "Cross My Mind."[10][11][12][13] Robin Schulz produced the official remix of "I Was Wrong,"[4][14] and, by August 2016, the original song had accrued 16 million streams online.[10] The Robin Schulz remix also appeared on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for 9 weeks.[15]

In 2017, the band toured with and opened for Kevin Garrett and, later, COIN.[2][15] In March, their single, "Oceans Away," had garnered 35.8 million streams on Spotify.[15] On May 19, 2017, the band released its debut studio album, GALLERY, on Atlantic Records.[1] The album peaked at #143 on the Billboard 200 chart.[7] A R I Z O N A has also played several festivals including South by Southwest, the Governors Ball Music Festival, Firefly Music Festival, and Lollapalooza.[1][16][17] The band went on a North American headlining tour in the Fall of 2017.[16][18] Also in 2017, Don Diablo (a Dutch DJ who is #11 in the world according to DJ Mag)[19] produced the song, "Take Her Place," with A R I Z O N A. The song appeared on Diablo's album, Future.[20][21]

In July 2018, the band released two new songs, "Summer Days" and "Freaking Out." They also started an arena tour that month, opening for Panic! at the Disco.[8][22]
