He was prominently a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1999 to 2017 but continues to film on an ad-hoc basis.

Biography

Born in Singapore in 24 August 1990, Pang started acting at the age on nine, and starred in children's drama titled Xiao Fei Ren (1999), Bukit Ho Swee (2002), The Adventures of BBT (2002), A Child's Hope Season 1 in 2003 and Season 2 in 2004 and I Love My Home (2004) etc. He was also once nominated for his role as Ding Wei Liang for his role in A Child's Hope in Star Awards 2003 for the Young Talent Award. He studied in Yuying Secondary School, and at the age of 14, he stopped acting due to teasing.[1] Later on, he graduated from Singapore Institute of Management University in 2012.

Career

He was a former child actor which helped him gained nomination for Young Talent Award in Star Awards 2003 but later gained fame through the Singaporean film Timeless Love directed by Lim Koong Hwee and Singaporean celebrity Dasmond Koh. Pang has an official fan club called Pangsters and was one of the 8 Dukes in Mediacorp.

In 2012, Pang made his comeback by starring as the lead role in the Singapore Film Timeless Love, which was directed by Lim Koong Hwee and Singaporean celebrity Dasmond Koh, which led to him gaining in popularity. Pang made his directorial debut in 2014 by directing the music video of Singapore-based Singer Gavin Teo's "I Understand" (我懂了), in which Xu Bin and Kimberly Chia starred.

In 2014, he was crowned one of the "8 Dukes of Caldecott Hill" and went on to win the Best Newcomer prize at the Star Awards 2015.

Pang released his first single, "Black Tears" (黑色眼泪) in 2015. It was also announced that Pang would star in Singapore's first cosplay-themed movie, Young & Fabulous, together with Joshua Tan and Joyce Chu.

Together with Xu Bin, he also took part in an online variety show produced by NoonTalk Media, 来吧!上课啦!.

On 7 April 2017, Pang told the press he was not going to recontract with Mediacorp to focus on a wood plastic composite company named Kairos Green with his brother so therefore he was not nominated for Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes.[2]

He made a comeback by filming a drama with Carrie Wong as aliens in My Friends From Afar. He filmed a toggle series drama called Love At Cavenagh Bridge where he played lovers with Kimberly Chia. He is also now acting as a second male lead for a new drama called 29 February.

Controversies

Drunk Driving

On May 18, 2017, Pang had been drinking at a wedding banquet before his accident, for which he was charged with drink driving.

According to the charge, Pang had been driving under the influence of alcohol on Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim, towards Jurong Port Road, on May 8, 2017, at around 4.42am, reports Lianhe Wanbao via Lianhe Zaobao.

It was revealed that while he was driving on Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim, he had lost control of his vehicle and struck the kerb. Another car was also involved in the accident. The police were alerted and upon investigation, discovered that Pang had been driving while intoxicated. A breath test showed that Pang had 55 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

While Pang had chosen to remain silent over the why he had been driving while he was drunk, an insider told Lianhe Wanbao that Pang had attended a wedding banquet prior to the accident, where he allegedly drank some beer with friends before leaving on the early morning of the incident.

Pang has remained silent on the matter. Aloysius was arrested and charged with drink driving.[3] He was fined $2,000 and banned from driving for 18 months.[4]
