Jayley Woo[1] (born 27 December 1991) is a Malaysian Mediacorp artiste.[2] She was prominently a full time MediaCorp artiste from 2012 to 2018 but continues to film on an ad-hoc basis.
Career
Jayley was a blogger alongside her older twin sister, Hayley Woo, under the stage name Jay On The Hay. She also has an official fanclub called JayleyBeans.
In 2012, she made her first debut by appearing in Jump! 《跳浪!》[3] alongside other cast members like Jeanette Aw and Zhang Zhenhuan which gained nomination for Best Newcomer in Star Awards 2013.
In 2013, she had filmed C.L.I.F., 96℃ Cafe & The Dream Makers. She also made cameo appearance in Sudden that landed her nomination for Asian Skin Solutions Radiant Skin Award in Star Awards 2014.
In 2014, she had filmed The Caregivers, C.L.I.F. 3 & Against The Tide that get her nomination Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes for Star Awards 2015 and awarded in Star Awards 2016 & 2017.
In 2015, she had filmed You Can Be An Angel Too, Tiger Mom & Super Senior and made cameo appearance in The Journey: Our Homeland.
In 2016, she gained her first leading role in The Queen and also filmed Beyond Words & Peace & Prosperity, made cameo appearance in Hero and a Toggle original series Soul Reaper.
In 2017, she had filmed Dream Coder, Have A Little Faith & Life Less Ordinary that was nominated in Best Theme Song in Star Awards 2018.
In 2018, she wrapped up her filming in a Toggle original series, Love At Cavenagh Bridge and is currently filming an English series, Glitch and also the next long form drama called Jalan Jalan.
In July 2018, Woo has left Mediacorp as a full-time artist after deciding not to continue her contract with the broadcaster’s talent firm The Celebrity Agency. The actress wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday (3 July) that she will still be taking on suitable acting roles despite leaving Mediacorp, meaning that she may still work with the broadcaster in the future on ad hoc projects. Woo is reportedly pursuing potential opportunities overseas, including possible projects in China.Woo follows other high-profile local celebrities who have left Mediacorp, which included the list of Jeanette Aw, Belinda Lee Xin Yu and Sharon Au, who recently left in February this year.
