2013 (MMXIII) was a common year starting on Tuesday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2013th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 13th year of the 3rd millennium, the 13th year of the 21st century, and the 4th year of the 2010s decade.

10 January – The lowest temperature since Bangladesh's independence, at 37.4 °F (3.0 °C) was recorded in Saidpur[3] amid 2013 extreme weather events.

5 February – Shahbag protests, associated with the Shahbag neighborhood of Dhaka, Bangladesh.[4][5]

20 March - Death of Zillur Rahman.[6]

24 April - A building collapsed, killing over 1,100 people.
