In Ware was de Hanbury Manor, een heel groot backstenen huis gebouwd in Jabobijnse stijl. Dit werd omgebouwd tot het Marriott Hanbury Manor Hotel, waarbij Jack Nicklaus in 1991 een 18-holes golfbaan aanlegde. Het English Open werd hier gespeeld van 1997-1999.
