Liotyphlops is een geslacht van slangen uit de familie Anomalepididae.[1]

De groep werd voor het eerst wetenschappelijk beschreven door Peters in 1881. Er zijn 10 soorten, inclusief de pas in 2010 beschreven Liotyphlops caissara.

De soorten komen voor in delen van Zuid-Amerika, Midden-Amerika, Noord-Amerika en leven endemisch in die landen.
