Europees kampioenschap voetbal vrouwen 2021

Het Europees kampioenschap voetbal vrouwen 2021 vormt de dertiende editie van het Europees continentaal kampioenschap voetbal voor vrouwen dat zal worden gehouden in Engeland. Het Nederlands vrouwenvoetbalelftal is de titelhouder.

Hoewel het toernooi oorspronkelijk gepland stond voor 11 juli tot en met 1 augustus 2021 werd op 17 maart 2020 bekend gemaakt dat het EK voor vrouwen zal worden uitgesteld, na aanleiding van het verplaatsen van het EK 2020 voor mannen naar 2021 vanwege de coronapandemie. Op 23 april 2020 maakte de UEFA bekend dat het toernooi met één jaar is uitgesteld en plaats zal vinden van 6 tot 31 juli 2022.[1]

Organisatie

Toewijzing

Engeland stelde zich als enige land kandidaat voor de organisatie. Op 3 december 2018 tijdens het UEFA Executive Committee in Dublin werd Engeland aangewezen als organisator.[2]

Kwalificatie

In 2019 start de kwalificatie voor de vijftien te vergeven plaatsen voor het eindtoernooi. Het gastland is automatisch geplaatst.
