"Dangerous" is een lied geschreven en gezongen door de Amerikaanse zanger Michael Jackson, dat zich op het album Dangerous bevindt. Het nummer was gepland als tiende single, maar werd geannuleerd door de beschuldigingen van seksueel misbruik in augustus 1993, Jacksons gezondheid en de slechte ontvangst van de vorige single, "Gone Too Soon".

Achtergrond

"Dangerous" is een nummer dat oorspronkelijk 'Streetwalker' heette, maar de tekst werd veranderd en zo ontstond een totaal ander nummer. Streetwalker is uitgebracht in de speciale editie van Bad in 2001. Het nummer zelf gaat over een 'gevaarlijke' vrouw.

Optredens

Jackson trad op met Dangerous tijdens de gehele HIStory World Tour en het einde van de Dangerous World Tour. Ook werd het meerdere malen uitgevoerd tijdens de MTV Music Awards en werd ook gepland voor de This Is It concerten, maar zijn nooit op de film verschenen. Zijn laatste live performance, in 2002, is het nummer Dangerous bij het programma American Bandstand, die hun 50-jarige bestaan vierden.

This Is It

In 2011 lekte er op het internet een stukje van de repetie voor This Is It. De versie van Dangerous die Michael Jackson wilde opvoeren zou stukjes bevatten van de nummers Morphine, 2000 Watts, This Place Hotel, Stranger in Moscow en Smooth Criminal.
