In Winter 2006, ground broke for a new passenger shelter on the southbound platform, which was completed in the following summer.

The historic original station house has been listed in the state and federal registers of historic places since 1984 and is part of the Operating Passenger Railroad Stations Thematic Resource.[7][8] The Waldwick Community Alliance[9] has leased the building for 25 years until 2034. It has been restored and now houses the Waldwick Museum of Local History.[10][11][12][13]
