Tameside Radio

Tameside Radio is a radio station which covers the Tameside area on 103.6FM in East Manchester. The station serves the 8 towns of Tameside from its transmitter based at Harrop Edge in Mottram. Areas covered include; Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Denton, Droylsden, Dukinfield, Hyde, Longdendale, Mossley and Stalybridge.

History

Tameside Radio launched on 30 September 2007 and was acquired by social landlord New Charter Housing Trust in 2011,[1] but is now an independent company as Quest Media Network.

In 2017, it was granted a license extension from Ofcom to continue broadcasting until September 2022.

In January 2019, local businessman Chris Bird took over as Executive Chairman of Quest Media Network [2] with plans to totally re-vamp the business.

Tameside Radio broadcasts National and International news bulletins every hour, provided by IRN (Independent Radio News) and Sky News Radio.[3]

Between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 Monday to Friday, they broadcast local news updates in partnership with the Tameside Reporter.
