Slobodan Kovač

Slobodan Kovač (born 13 September 1967) is a former Serbian volleyball player and coach, a head coach of the Serbia men's national volleyball team.

Career

In 2014, he was appointed as a head coach of the Iran men's national team[2] until the 2016 Summer Olympics.[3] Previously competing for Yugoslavia, he won team medals at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics (bronze) and his inaugural gold medal at the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics at the age of 33.[4]

In 2010-2014 and 2015-2016, he was a head coach of Sir Safety Perugia, reaching the Superlega finals twice, Italy's top tier league. Kovač in 2016 officially became a new head coach of Halkbank Ankara.[5] In the same year he was elected as a head coach of the Slovenia men's national team.[6]
