Design
The devices use an anodized aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass on the front and back. The power button is recessed on the non-Pro models, while the K30 Pro, K30 Pro Zoom and Poco F2 Pro have a red accent instead. The non-Pro models have dual front-facing cameras housed in a pill-shaped cutout, resembling the Galaxy S10+, while the K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom retain the pop-up camera from the K20. At the rear, the camera protrusion is a single unit with a dual-LED flash below surrounded by a circular accent. The non-Pro models have an oval module, while the K30 Pro, K30 Pro Zoom and Poco F2 Pro have a circular module. The non-Pro models launched in (Phoenix) Red, (Matrix) Purple and (Atlantis) Blue, with an additional White finish available on the 5G version and a Mint finish on the 5G Racing version; the K30 Pro, K30 Pro Zoom and Poco F2 Pro launched in (Cyber) Grey, (Electric) Purple, (Phantom) White and (Neon) Blue. Branding varies between devices, with the K30, K30 5G and K30i 5G having a vertically oriented Redmi logo, the K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom having a horizontally oriented Redmi logo, and the Poco X2 and Poco F2 Pro having a horizontally oriented Poco logo.
Specifications
Hardware & Software
The non-Pro models are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 series SoCs, with the K30 and Poco X2 retaining the K20's Snapdragon 730G and Adreno 618 while the K30 5G and K30i 5G receive the newer Snapdragon 765G and Adreno 620. The K30 5G Racing has the Snapdragon 768G paired with an overclocked version of the Adreno 620. The K30 Pro, K30 Pro Zoom and Poco F2 Pro use the flagship Snapdragon 865 and Adreno 650. Storage and RAM options have been carried over from the K20 (64, 128 or 256 GB of UFS 2.1 storage and 6 or 8 GB of RAM), although microSD card expansion is now supported up to 256 GB on the K30 and Poco X2. The K30 Pro, K30 Pro Zoom and Poco F2 Pro have either 128 or 256 GB of storage and 6 or 8 GB of RAM with an additional 12 GB RAM/512 GB UFS variant on the K30 Pro Zoom; the 128 GB/6 GB K30 Pro model has UFS 3.0 while other models have UFS 3.1. The Poco F2 Pro has UFS 3.1 on all models and no 8 GB RAM/128 GB UFS variant. The K30i 5G and K30 5G Racing have a single 6 GB RAM/128 GB UFS configuration. At the front, the display itself is larger than the K20's at 6.67" (169.4mm) and has a wider 20:9 aspect ratio with a 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support. However, the screen is an LCD panel as opposed to the AMOLED panel of the K20 and K20 Pro, and as a result the fingerprint sensor is integrated with the power button. The K30 Pro, K30 Pro Zoom and Poco F2 Pro use an AMOLED display with an optical sensor and HDR10+ support, but only have a 60 Hz refresh rate. The battery is 4500mAh on the non-Pro models, and 4700mAh on the K30 Pro, K30 Pro Zoom and Poco F2 Pro. Fast charging is supported for all devices; the K30 & Poco X2 support up to 27W, the K30 5G & K30i 5G support up to 30W, and the K30 Pro, K30 Pro Zoom and Poco F2 Pro support up to 33W. All devices are pre-installed with MIUI 11, which is based on Android 10.
Camera
The wide sensor on all K30 variants except for the K30i 5G has been upgraded from a 48 MP sensor to a 64 MP sensor and now features an extra depth sensor. The K30 Pro Zoom benefits from the usage of optical image stabilization on the wide lens. It has an 8 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, while the K30 Pro and Poco F2 Pro have a 5 MP "telemacro" lens which has twice the focal length of a standard macro lens. The non-Pro models have a 2 or 5 MP macro lens instead. The ultrawide sensor's resolution is 8 MP on the non-Pro models, and 13 MP on the K30 Pro, K30 Pro Zoom and Poco F2 Pro. The front-facing camera uses a 20 MP sensor; the non-Pro models have a secondary depth module.
