Ravar County

Ravar County (Persian: شهرستان راور; also Romanized as Rāvar) is a county in Kerman Province in Iran. The capital of Ravar County is Ravar. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 38,539, in 10,236 families.[1] The county is subdivided into two districts (bakhsh): the Central District and Kuhsaran District. The county has two cities: Ravar and Hojedk.

Ravar is the very northern city of Kerman province. It is on the border of Kerman province and the large desert area of the Southern Khorasan province, called Loot desert (Kavir-e-Loot).

Carpet weaving is one of the main industries of the city, and the carpets produced there are renowned internationally. This art is a very old tradition in Ravar.
