Rama University is a private university established in the year 2014 and approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Government of India. Rama University Uttar Pradesh has been established as a State University at Kanpur vide U.P. Act No. 1 of 2014 as passed by the State Legislature and is empowered to give degrees as specified by UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act 1956 through its main campus with the approval of Statutory Councils, wherever required. It offers 100+ courses, has 9 constituent faculties, 3 teaching hospitals, and state-of-the-art research centres to cater to the students from all over the country and abroad. The university is located in Delhi-NCR and Kanpur.

History

In the year 1996 Rama Dental College was established. Thereafter, Rama University has witnessed growth in the below-mentioned trajectory:

2001 300 beds Multi-Specialty Hospital was established at Lakhanpur Kanpur.
2002 1st batch of Dental Graduates was conferred by his Excellency Gov. of Uttar Pradesh.
2005 A state-of-art campus for hosting Medical College and Rama University at Kanpur was established.
2006 PG Courses (MDS) was started in Rama Dental College Kanpur.
2007 Rama Institute of Engineering & Technology and Rama Institute of Para Medical Sciences at Kanpur was established along with the establishment of 700 beds of Multi-Specialty Hospital at Mandhana Kanpur.
2008 Rama College of Nursing and Rama Medical College was established in Kanpur.
2009 Rama Institute of Commerce & Management was established.
2010 Rama Satellite Hospital of 200 Beds was established at Shivrajpur and also Super Specialty Hospital of 800 beds was established at Hapur.
2011 Rama Medical College was established at Hapur.
2012 Rama College of Nursing was established at Hapur along with Rama International School was established at Hapur.
2014 All the academic institutions were centralized and Rama University was formed by Uttar Pradesh Established under the State Act. Also, the Faculty of Journalism & Mass Communication came into existence.

The University has three state-of-the-art lush green, safe campuses spread across more than 150 acres.

Infrastructure

The Rama University has three state-of-the-art lush green, safe campuses spread across more than 150 acres. Each campus is equipped with not so modern (old) auditoriums that can seat guests over 500 per session. The auditoriums are well equipped with systems for audio, video and multi-media presentations. The university also encourages MOOC universities that allow students to enhance their qualifications, while still enrolled for regular paid full-time courses. All campuses are Wi-Fi enabled, have fully equipped IT labs.

Rama University provides AC and non-AC accommodation to students which is equipped with Mess, Cafeteria, and Medical & Healthcare facilities. The University also comprises Auditorium, Banking facilities, Central Library, Computer Labs, AutoCAD Lab, Microsoft Lab, Incubation Cell, Moot Courts, ICT Enabled Classrooms, MOOC study centres, Sports Amenities, Agriculture Farming Prototype, Pharmaceutical Labs, Engineering Lab, Digital Library, Dedicated R&D Centre, and more.

Rama University has eleven Faculties of various courses including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, doctorate levels and others.

  • Faculty of Medical Sciences

Rama Medical College and Teaching Hospital is equipped with a complete radio diagnostic range of equipment and state of art pathology systems. They are Super Specialty hospitals offering medical services across different departments such as Urology, Cardiology, Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Paediatric Surgery, Reproductive Medicine, Surgical Oncology, Radiotherapy, Respiratory Sciences, Plastic Surgery, Joint replacement, Laparoscopic Surgery, and Blood Component Unit. The Faculty of Medical Sciences offers a wide range of undergraduates, postgraduate, and PhD courses such as MBBS (Basic Medical Sciences), B.Sc. (Anatomy/ Physiology/ Microbiology/ Pharmacology/ Pathology/ Biotechnology) and Post Graduate MD courses (Anatomy/ Physiology/ Biochemistry/ Pathology/ Community Medicine/ Pharmacology/ Microbiology) and similarly various M.Sc., MS, and Ph.D. courses.

  • Faculty of Nursing

Faculty of Nursing was established in 2008 as the first private sector Nursing College in a Campus with an adjoining Medical College at Kanpur. The faculty is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and U.P. State Nursing Council to offer degree and diploma courses in nursing to meet the diverse needs of the healthcare sector. The nurses are trained in not just basic medical specialities but also Intensive and critical super specialities such as Intensive Care Units, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Oncology, Nephrology, and Neurology. The courses offered in Nursing include MSc Degree in Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, BSc Degree in Nursing, Post Basic BSc Degree in Nursing, Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery, and Certificate in Auxiliary Nurse and Midwives.

Rama Dental College, Rama- Kanpur, is the first private Dental College in Uttar Pradesh established in the year 1996. It is recognized by the Dental Council of India and Govt. of India. The College is spread across 3.5 lac sq. ft. area and it is one of the largest dental facilities in northern India. The Faculty offers advanced teaching facilities for imparting education on different departments such as Oral Medicine, Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontics, Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Community Dentistry, Oral Pathology & Microbiology. FET offers B.Tech., BCA, B.Sc., M.Tech., MCA, and PhD programs in various disciplines including Mechanical (CAD/CAM), Computer Science, Civil, Biotech, Electrical Engineering (Power Electronics & Power System), Micro Electronics & VLSI Design, Microwave Comm. & Radar Engineering, Biotech Engineering, etc. For admission in B.Tech., JEE and UPSEE scores of the applicants are considered. Moreover, the university conducts an online test named RUET followed by personal interviews for the candidates who don't appear in JEE or Similar exams.

  • Faculty of Commerce and Management (FCM)

FCM at Rama University offers different programs including BBA, B. Com (Hons), BA Economics, MBA, PhD and integrated programs in several disciplines. MAT/XAT scores are validated for the admission of MBA applicants. University also conducts an online test named RUET for the candidates who don't appear in MAT/XAT. FCM also offers short-term courses in Goods & services tax (GST – the refresher course), Investment planning (Mutual Funds – the foundation course), Refresher course in Digital Marketing, Workplace Etiquettes, and Social Entrepreneurship.

  • Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries (FASAI)

FASAI at Rama University provides comprehensive program provides students with sound knowledge in the mathematics, science and engineering science required to solve agricultural engineering problems. It also enables them to effectively identify and design sustainable solutions to address issues and global opportunities. The agriculture degree program at Rama University ensures successful professional careers in agro-industries, government organizations, educational/research/extension institute. Pharmaceutical Sciences at Rama University includes Undergraduate Course (B. Pharma) and Diploma (D. Pharma) Courses since 2018 with the approval of the Pharmacy Council of India to serve the needs of the Pharmaceutical Industry as well as Community Pharmacy services at the State, National as well as global level.

  • Faculty of Paramedical Sciences (FPMS)

Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, Rama University has been set up in recognition of the ever-increasing demands of Physiotherapy & Paramedical professionals. It offers a wide array of courses that are integral and important parts of all Orthopaedics, Trauma, surgical and Neurological teams at a healthcare institution. The degree courses include Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Bachelor of Medical Lab Technician (BMLT), B.Sc. Optometry (B. Opto) and Diploma courses include Optometry, Cardiac Technician, MRI, X-ray Technician, OT Technician, Physiotherapy [DPT], Medical lab technician [DMLT], CT Scan, ETCT, and Dialysis Technician.

Admission Process

Rama University Entrance Test (RUET) is a national aptitude test, conducted by Rama University for the aspiring candidates seeking admission in one of the courses offered by the university.

  • For Indian Candidates

The entrance test is mandatory for all Indian candidates. The minimum qualification is a successful clearance of 10+2 of any recognized education board. Once the candidate clears the Entrance Test, he/she can apply for the formal admission to any one of the courses, offered by Rama University.

  • For Foreign Candidates

Foreign candidates can seek direct admission in any one of the courses without appearing for the RU Entrance Test. All candidates must register themselves and create their online accounts on the university website. This web account shall be unique to the candidate and shall be used for all future activities including the admission process.
