Rajgurunagar (Khed)

Rajgurunagar (Khed) is a census town in the Pune Metropolitan Region of the Indian state of Maharashtra.[2] It is the headquarters of Khed taluka in the Pune district.

Etymology

Rajgurunagar (Khed) is named after an Indian freedom fighter, Shivaram Rajguru, who was born here.

Rajgurunagar is not a tourism place but there are good destinations to visit. Siddheshwar Mandir, Kedareshwar Mandir, Shani Mandir. Near chandoli goan is dhume dongar. Dhume dongar is best location for walking in the morning. Chaskaman dam is 22 km from khed.is the good for visit. And Bhama askhed dam also good for visit.askhed dam 35 km from khed.. And rajguru wada is also visit..from khed a tukai Mata Mandir also visit..

Economy

Bharat Forge's Special Economic Zone (SEZ) named as Khed City[3] is the biggest SEZ in Pune spread over 1,000 hectares (4200Acre) of notified land in Khed taluka.[4][5][6]

MARS International India Pvt.Ltd., the global manufacturer of chocolates, snack foods and pet foods acquired a large parcel of land in KhedCity (Bharat Forge's SEZ). The Company will set up its first manufacturing facility in India here with investment of Rs 1,005 crore (over $160 million).[7] [8]
