New Zealand at the 2020 Summer Paralympics

New Zealand will be competing at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan. Originally to be held from 25 August to 6 September 2020, the event has been postponed by one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will now be held from 24 August to 5 September 2021.

Officials

Former Paralympic cyclist and gold medallist Paula Tesoriero was appointed Chef de Mission.[1]

Athletics

William Stedman qualified to compete in the men's 400m T36 event.

Danielle Aitchison qualified to compete in the women's 100m T36 and 200m T36 events.

Anna Grimaldi qualified to compete in the women's long jump T47 event.

Holly Robinson qualified to compete in the women's javelin throw F46 event.

Jessica Gillan qualified to compete in the women's shot put F34 event.

Lisa Adams qualified to compete in the women's shot put F37 event.

Swimming

New Zealand will compete in swimming at the 2020 Summer Paralympics.

Wheelchair rugby

New Zealand qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics after winning bronze at the Asia Oceania Zonal Championships in South Korea.[2]
