Volleyball
The women's sitting volleyball team finished in 10th place at the 2018 World ParaVolley Championships in the Netherlands but they hope to improve their volleyball skills before the home games.[4]
Wheelchair basketball
Wheelchair rugby
Japan will compete in wheelchair rugby after automatically qualified as they are host nation. They have also won their first ever world championship title in the 2018 IWRF World Championship after defeating reigning champions Australia in the final.[5]
Wheelchair tennis
Japan have two entries for wheelchair tennis after automatically qualifying by winning gold medals at the 2018 Asian Para Games.[6]
