Eirodziesma 2007
Latvia selected their entry for the 2007 contest using the Eirodziesma 2007 format.
Format
The format of the competition consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. The two semi-finals featured ten competing entries each, from which five were selected to advance to the final from each show. The songs in each semi-final first faced a public televote where the top three entries qualified. A jury then selected an additional two qualifiers from the remaining entries to proceed in the competition. In the final, the winner was chosen in two rounds of televoting - the first to select the top 3 and the second to select the winner.
Competing entries
Songs could be submitted to the broadcaster until 20 November 2006. A record number of 106 songs were submitted, and a seven-member jury evaluated the submitted entries and selected 20 entries to compete in the national final, which were released publicly on 11 December 2006. The selection jury consisted of Cosmos, Guna Zučika, Sandris Vanzovičs, Wig Wam, Zdob și Zdub, Andrius Mamontovas and Mario Galunič.[1]
