Kifri

Kifri (Kurdish: کفری ,Kifrî‎[1][2]; Arabic: كفري‎[3]) is a Kurdish town and the seat of Kifri District, in the north of the Diyala Governorate. In the 1947 census, 70% of the population was Kurdish.[4] The town is part of the Disputed areas of North Iraq and controlled by Kurdistan Region.[5] A significant Iraqi Turkmens population is present as well.[6]
