KLOB went on air in 1993 as "Radio Lobo" aired Mexican regional songs, then switched to "Radio Romántica" to play Latin rhythmical hits in 1999 and finally to the "Super estrella" format to air Hurban/Latin pop and rock en español music in 2004. As of 2012 it is a banda or Latin jazz station.
KLOB features radio personality Eddie "Piolín" Sotelo on his weekday morning program "el Piolín por la Manana" through his home station KSCA 101.9 FM in Los Angeles. It is the #1 rated radio program (in any language) for the Coachella Valley as well in the Los Angeles Area radio markets.
On January 6, 2009 KLOB changed its format to Spanish adult hits, branded as "Jose 94.7".
On January 8, 2018 KLOB changed their format from Spanish adult hits to regional Mexican, branded as "Radio La Suavecita 94.7".[1]
