First 2 trains were in use on Moscow — Novoperedelkino express route in 2017 — 2018 before extension of the Moscow Metro  Solntsevskaya line.[1] Since 2018 they are working on Usovo branch of Belorussky suburban railway line in preparation for launch of Moscow Central Diameters D1 Line.[2]

This vehicle is built in Tver and the design was outsourced in Europe, TVZ ordered the design and early development of that train to Integral Design and Development, S.A., based in Barcelona, Spain. This company is responsible for the strategic, conceptual and detail design of the exterior and interior of the train. A natural scale mock-up was built by Integral Design and presented in Russia in 2015.

In 2017 an update of this model was outsourced to Integral Design, in 2019 started testing of Ivolga 2.0 . The new vehicle adds improvements in the interior design according to users preferences and the exterior is completely new with high tech solutions. Since November 2019, these have been serving Line D1 of Moscow Central Diameters.[3]
