Background

When Travis Scott was doing an interview with Billboard about the album and how he linked with Kendrick Lamar for "Goosebumps" he said:

I met him at the MTV Video Music Awards one year and he came up to me and was just like, "Yo, man, I fuck with your music. It's super dope and inspirational." I was like, whoa, this is the best rapper in the globe – he fucks with my music! That's one of the things that made me want to keep working on my music and try to keep it going 'cause I'm not the most rappity rap ass nigga. That's not me but I really love Kendrick's music. I really love André's music. I really love 'Ye's shit. I really love Jay's shit. I like rappers. It's just dope that these dudes came to La Flame's world to get down on some ill beats.[2]

Music video

The music video was released on April 3, 2017 exclusively on Apple Music. It was directed by BRTHR, who also directed a similar music video for The Weeknd's "Party Monster".[3]

Chart performance

"Goosebumps" debuted at number 92 on the US Billboard Hot 100 for the week of September 24, 2016.[4] The song then re-entered the chart several times and peaked at number 32 on the chart, becoming his third top 40 hit. In January 2017, the song was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 500,000 equivalent-units in the United States. On March 28, 2017, Travis announced that the song has been certified Platinum.[5]
