Chico, Texas
Chico is a small town in Wise County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,002 at the 2010 census. Chico is also home of the 2019 Midget Football Champions after defeating Boyd in the first round of playoffs and Bowie in the championship game (18-0)[3]

Geography
Chico is located at 33°17′46″N 97°47′55″W (33.296056, -97.798605). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 km2), all land.[4]

At the 2000 census there were 947 people in 358 households, including 259 families, in the city. The population density was 754.2 people per square mile (290.2/km²). There were 406 housing units at an average density of 323.3 per square mile (124.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 94.40% White, 0.21% African American, 1.06% Native American, 2.75% from other races, and 1.58% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.34%.[1]
Of the 358 households 37.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.5% were married couples living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.4% were non-families. 26.0% of households were one person and 11.2% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.16.
The age distribution was 30.8% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% 65 or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females, there were 98.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.5 males.
The median household income was $32,955 and the median family income was $38,056. Males had a median income of $31,739 versus $18,542 for females. The per capita income for the city was $13,604. About 9.6% of families and 14.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18.4% of those under age 18 and 11.4% of those age 65 or over.

The City of Chico is served by the Chico Independent School District.
