Dr. Amar Singh is an Indian politician and retired IAS officer.

Early Life
Amar Singh was born in Ramdasia Sikh family to Malkiat Singh and Gurdev Kaur.[1][2]
He did M.A in Economics from Barkatullah University and MBBS from Amritsar Medical College, Punjab.[3]
Civil Services
He joined Indian Administrative Services and served in Madhya Pradesh cadre.
He played keyrole in formation of MNREGA, served as principal secretary in Madhya Pradesh govt. under Digvijaya Singh and also served as chairman in Food Corporation of India.[4]
Politics
He first elected from Raikot constituency in Punjab Legislative Assembly but lost in the elections.[5]
He was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Fatehgarh Sahib (Lok Sabha constituency) of Punjab.[6][7]
He is Vice-President of PPCC and spokesperson of Congress. He is also a member of senate in Panjab University.[8]
