Abu al-Layth al-Samarqandi

Abu al-Layth al-Samarqandi (d. 1006 CE/ 396 Hijri) was a Hanafite jurist and Quran commentator, who lived during the second half of the 10th century. He authored various books on theology and jurist works, including "Bahr al-Ulum", a Quran exgesis, also known as Tafsir as-Samarqandi.

His time of death is not quite certain.[1]
