On 11 January 2016 club congress had been held and Hüseyin Çalışkan had taken over the presidency of the club. However, payable amounts to previous coaches and players could not be paid, which was a condition for opening the table. Rumors arose and Tekin declared that he resigned and called for another extraordinary congress. Congress was held on 25 February 2017 and Mahmut Karak, a business man and previous deputy vice president who emerged as a candidate during the process was elected new president. His new executive committee was as follows:[6]

2016–17 squad
Appearances, goals and cards count for 2016–17 TFF First League and Türkiye Kupası (2016–17 Turkish Cup) games. Only the players who appeared in game rosters were included.[12] Player's are listed in order of appearance. MİY could not signed with new players in Summer 2016, because TFF decided on transfer ban for MİY due to club' debt to former coach Giray Bulak and former player Joseph Boum.[13] The UEFA transfer ban due to removal of contract wit former player David Bičík had been applied for 2015 Winter and Summer transfer seasons. later TFF did not open transfer table in 2016 Winter and 2016 Summer transfer seasons. By the way, TFF has declared a three-point deduction penalty due to financial inefficiencies on 20 September 2016.[14] However, on 27 September 2016 it was declared by then president Çalışkan that the debts were discharged.[15] Ali Tekin who followed Çalışkan as president had tried to open the transfer table but could not do so, because he couldn't find sources to close club's debts payable to previous coaches and players. After it was clear that transfer table could not be opened Tekin resigned. New management under Mahmut Karak was planning to open the table in Summer 2017.
