Zamkowo [zamˈkɔvɔ] (German: Samkowen)[1] is a settlement in the administrative district of Gmina Sorkwity, within Mrągowo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[2] It lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) north-east of Sorkwity, 9 km (6 mi) north-west of Mrągowo, and 48 km (30 mi) east of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (East Prussia).
