Yuvaraju (English: Prince) is a 1982 Telugu, drama film, produced by Venkat Akkineni, Nagarjuna Akkineni on Annapurna Studios banner[2] and directed by Dasari Narayana Rao.[3] Starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Jayasudha, Sujatha in the lead roles[4] and music composed by Chakravarthy.[5]

Plot

Rajesh is a millionaire playboy who lives life by his own rule book without caring for society. He had many women in his life but never found love. All this changes when he saves a girl named Asha from the hands of a bunch of goons. She is beautiful, innocent and charming but is an amnesiac who can not recall any details about her past or her family. Still Rajesh finds his dream girl in her and they fall in love. Dr. Karuna is an orphan whose education was sponsored by Rajesh. She has been silently in love with Rajesh ever since she became his ward. Rajesh's grand parents like her and arrange her wedding with Rajesh, without his knowledge. But, Rajesh informs her at the altar that he was in love with another girl. Karuna is heart broken but graciously agrees to call off their wedding. Rajesh goes to Asha to get married but finds that she is gone. He comes to know that Asha regained her memory and returned to her home. He manages to find her but she can not recognize him and has forgotten the time she spent with him and their love. Her parents decide to marry her off to Murali, their relative. A dejected Rajesh goes into depression and becomes a drunkard. Karuna nurses him back to health. He realizes that she is still in love with him but cancellation of their wedding and the time she spent with a Casanova like him helping recover has tarnished her reputation. Though he never cares for society, he feels sorry for her and also realizes that he is now in love with her. He proposes to her and she accepts. But as soon as they are married, Asha returns. She not only regained her memory of Rajesh and their love but is also pregnant with his child. Realizing that Rajesh is already married, she is willing to sacrifice her love but Karuna is also ready to do the same since Asha is his true love. But, Rajesh can not accept either of them suffer in pain. He wants both their love. They too are willing but fear violating the norms of civilized society. He convinces them not to forego their happiness due to cowardice and to face the society with courage. They finally agree and live happily as his wives under one roof.

It was one of the last movies of legendary actor ANR as a romantic leading man. The movie's music was popular prerelease but the controversial climax earned the movie the wrath of women audience and it bombed at the box office.
