Wendover, also known as Frontier Nursing Service or Big House, near Hyden, Kentucky, is notable for its association with the American effort to professionalize midwifery, led by Mary Breckinridge. It was headquarters of the Frontier Nursing Service, an organization which continues today. Wendover has been named a U.S. National Historic Landmark.[2]

Wendover is a two-and-a-half-story log building on a south-facing hillside, overlooking the Middle Fork of the Kentucky River, on a small road off U.S. Route 421, about two miles south of the small town of Hyden, Kentucky.[2]
