Weeve was a free crowdfunding website for nonprofit projects founded by Alex Chung, Vincent Chu, and Trevor Loke[1][2] and based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.[3] The site once raised money for organizations including the BC Children's Hospital Foundation and YWCA.[4]

On August 15, 2012 it was announced that Weeve would join GrowLab as a member of its farm team.[5] Weeve was presented at the 2012 GrowConference Demo Day in Vancouver, British Columbia.

On February 14, 2013, Weeve was acquired by a Canadian public company, LX Ventures, for undisclosed amount.

The Weeve website is now inactive.

Model

Weeve operated based on a freemium model, opting not to take any transaction fees from donors or nonprofit organizations.[6] Weeve attempted to generate revenue through partnerships with companies who want to target socially conscious donors on the site, and sponsor nonprofit projects.
