Volkswagen I.D. series
The Volkswagen I.D. series is a family of all-electric battery-powered concept cars from Volkswagen (VW), built on the MEB platform (German: Modularer Elektrobaukasten) that is developed by the Volkswagen Group for a range of electric cars manufactured by its subsidiaries. Several of these concept cars are planned to be adapted into production models.[1] The I.D. series is the first series of electric cars from VW that are purpose built from the ground up to be electric vehicles.[2] In 2018, the I.D. R set the record for a road vehicle of any type, in the Pike's Peak Hill Climb, with the fastest ascent, the first car under 8 minutes, at 7:57.148.[3]
