Plot
The film begins while Arjuna (Kanta Rao) is explaining Subhadra (S. Varalakshmi) regarding Padmavyuha army in lotus shape and Abhimanyu is listening from her womb. By the time Arjuna is telling how to exit from it, Lord Krishna (N. T. Rama Rao) diverts him and takes away. Years roll by, now Pandavas on Agjnathavasam to live for one year unrecognized. At that time Subhadra lives in Dwaraka with her son Abhimanyu (Shobhan Babu). An archery contest is held in the presence of Balarama in which Abhimanyu wins Rudra Dhanusu seeing this Lakshmana Kumara son of Duryodhana (Rajanala) abuses Pandavas. Abhimanyu gets angry and chases him but due to Krishna's trick lands in Virata's kingdom where Pandavas are in disguise. There he meets Uttara (Kanchana) daughter of Virata king and falls in love with her. Arjuna alias Bruhannala sees Abhimanyu and warns him that his presence may harm his parents. So he calls his elder brother Ghatotkacha (Nellore Kantha Rao) and with his help he meets Uttara. Meanwhile, Ghatotkacha eats away the food cooked where Bhima sees and throws him out. In that anger, Ghatotkacha starts destroying the kingdom. King Virata blames Pandavas in disguise responsible for these events. Pandavas pray Krishna for help. Krishna calms down Abhimanyu & Ghatotkacha by giving an assurance that he will make Uttara's marriage with Abhimanyu and he also keeps a condition that they should be prisoners to Virata for few days.
On the other side in Hastinapuram Duryodhana comes to know about Pandavas are hidden in the Virata Kingdom. So, he sends his army to capture cows on the south side. Same time he wants to capture north side cows. Abhimanyu & Ghatotkacha help Virata in the war and protects him. Next day in the court Virata wants to give a gift to them, Abhimanyu asks the hand of Uttara. But Virata refuses and the dispute arises between them. At the same time, Krishna appears in the court along with Pandavas and reveals the truth. Finally, Uttara & Abhimanyu's marriage takes place. After that Pandavas send Sri Krishna as an ambassador to Dhritarashtra for negotiations but it fails and the war is declared. Abhimanyu is very happy about it. Subadra requests Sri Krishna to save her son Abhimanyu in the battle and Krishna indirectly replies that her children only will rule this kingdom.
The war begins, after 10 days when Bhishma is collapsed Duryodhana makes Drona (Raavi Konadala Rao) as chief commander, for that he is ready to give a boon to him then he requests to capture Dharmaraja (Dhulipala) and he promises to does so. But until Arjuna is in the war field it is impossible, so, they plot a scheme and send Arjuna faraway from that place. At the same time, Drona plans for Padmavyuha except Arjuna no one knows to destroy it. At that stage, to save the honour of the Pandavas, Abhimanyu came forward but Dharmaraju does not accept because Abhimanyu does not know how to come back. Remaining Pandavas give an assurance that they will protect him and make Dharmaraju accept. Abhimanyu enters into Vyuha, remaining people also try to enter but Saindhava (Satyanarayana) obstructs their way and stops them due to the boon that he had received from Lord Siva to hold off the Pandava forces for one day. Abhimanyu defeats whoever came his way and vanquished many. Because it is difficult to defeat Abhimanyu, Kauravas use a crooked false strategy, all of them surround him, attack at a time and kills him cruelly. After hearing the details of Abhimanyu's death, Arjuna vowed to kill Saidhava before sunset, if failing to do so, promised to immediately commit suicide by self-immolation. Next day Kauravas hide Saidhava when the time is going up Krishna creates an illusion that sunset is over knowing this Saidhava comes out and Arjuna Kills him with his heavenly arrow Pasupatha. At last, Subhadra asks Krishna what about the word has given to her then he replies that the child in Uttara's womb will become the ruler of India. At the same time, Arjuna blames Krishna that he intentionally did this. Finally, the movie ends Krishna showing his Vishwaroopam entire world form in him and tells the relations which been made by birth will be ended after death.
