Vaibhav Kaul (born 1991) is a Himalayan photographer, painter, geographer and environmental scholar.[1][2][3][4][5][6] He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Asiatic Society, an alumnus of the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford, and a researcher at the University of Sheffield.[7][8][5][1] He has investigated socio-environmental change in the high-mountain regions of Lahaul, Garhwal, Kumaon and Sikkim in India.[8][1][9][5][10][11][12][13] His landscape art, visual geomorphology and visual ethnography works have been exhibited and published in South Asia, Europe and North America.[2][14][1][15][16][6][5][17][18][19][20] He collaborated with the film director Ross Harrison to make Facing the Mountain, a 2016 documentary about faith, resilience and change in the Himalayas.[21][22][23][24][25][26][27] He appeared in An Awakening, a poetic Anglo-Himalayan art film that he created with the cinematographer John Seddon as part of a 2017 video autoethnography experiment.[28]
