Piyaa Albela (English: "Unique Lover") is an Indian soap opera that is produced by Rajshri Productions and broadcast on Zee TV[2] The show focuses on a love story which is the modern retelling of the love story of Menaka and Vishwamitra.[3][4]
The show stars Akshay Mhatre and Sheen Dass in lead roles, who made their Indian television debut with this show.[5] Producer Sooraj Barjatya has worked for about 8 years on this show. The show began airing from March 6, 2017 replacing popular Zee TV show Jamai Raja (TV series).[6]
Plot
Piyaa Albela is a modern-day interpretation of the classic love story of Menaka and Vishwamitra. The show revolves around Naren and Pooja, who are poles apart from each other. Naren is on the path of spirituality, studying psychology, more in the classroom of his mind and soul than an average college, Naren barely even reads the news. Unkempt in appearance and erratic in his manner, he is looked upon as reclusive and anti-social. Lost in his own world of meditation, the poor little rich boy is a rebel, a maze his own parents have failed to decipher. Pooja on the other hand, is all that Naren is not, warm, confident and a complete people's person. Her talents range from being a karate champ who can straighten wayward boys trying to get fresh with her to dancing like a dream at the cultural nights of her university. Pooja came as the answer to all those questions Naren's parents had in their minds and they were instantly convinced that Pooja is the girl Naren needs in his life. Eventually Naren and Pooja get married. But they get separated on finding that Pooja's horoscope had some problems.Later after 1year leap Pooja returns back to Naren's life. Meanwhile Naren had changed a lot in appearance and attitude. Later they clear all the misunderstandings and decide to get married. The story later depicts how Naren and Pooja together tackles all the evils in their life and maintain sanctity of their relationship.
