Thomas Heaton is a travel and landscape photographer and creator of popular YouTube^[1] videos.

The Early Years

Thomas was born on April 26, 1984 in Blackpool.^[2] He was first introduced to the dark room at college when he was 16 years old and has been photographing ever since, although his first experience in the dark room was not easy as Thomas can be claustrophobic.^[3] He soon overcame this and enjoyed many years of developing film.

Career

Thomas left his job in 2010, where he worked as a Video Technician and became a full time freelance cameraman and photographer. Thomas runs a commercial photography studio, ProCap^[4] as well as working on commissions for Visit England where he photographs landscapes for the promotion of tourism in the north of England. Thomas also makes a living by publishing images in national newspapers^[5] and magazines. He conducts photography workshops as well.

YouTube

Thomas creates YouTube videos,^[6] which document his landscape and travel shoots. His popularity comes from his extremely honest and unpolished approach to vlogging and photography. His emphasis is on hiking, making the effort and getting to the right place at the right time rather than focusing on equipment. Thomas' YouTube videos see him shoot landscapes in England, Scotland, Iceland, Yosemite National Park, Sierra Nevada Foothills and Norway.
