Takashima (高島市, Takashima-shi) is a city located in Shiga Prefecture, Japan.

On October 1, 2016, the city has an estimated population of 49,168 (56,220 on November 30, 2004) and a population density of 71 persons per km² (110 on November 30, 2004). The total area is 693 km² (511 km² on November 30, 2004).

The modern city of Takashima was established on January 1, 2005, from the merger of the former town of Takashima, absorbing the towns of Adogawa, Imazu, Makino and Shin'asahi, and the village of Kutsuki (all from Takashima District).
