Susan Marie Brnovich (born 1968) is an Arizona Superior Court Judge and is a United States District Judge–Designate of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
Biography
Brnovich earned her Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Science and Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
She served for eight years as prosecutor with Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. She later served five years as a commissioner on the Maricopa County Superior Court, where she presided over numerous criminal jury trials. She currently serves as a trial court judge on the Maricopa County Superior Court, where she has served since being appointed by former Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano in January 2009.[2] Prior to assuming the bench, Brnovich served for eight years as prosecutor with Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.[3]
Nomination to district court
On January 23, 2018 President Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate Brnovich to an undetermined seat on the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.[3] On January 24, 2018 her nomination was sent to the United States Senate. She has been nominated to the seat vacated by Judge Neil Vincent Wake, who took senior status on July 5, 2016.[4] On May 9, 2018 a hearing on her nomination was held before the Senate Judiciary Committee.[5] Her nomination was voted out of committee on June 7 by voice vote.[6] On October 11, 2018 her nomination was confirmed by the full Senate by voice vote.[7] She is currently awaiting her judicial commission.

She has been a member of the Federalist Society since 2011.[1]
Personal life
She is married to the current Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich.[8]
