Sri Vijaya Visakha Milk Producers Company Ltd sells products such as pedha, paneer, curds and milk in the name of Visakha Dairy. It is a federation of milk producers association working on cooperative principles. Almost every North Coastal district in state of Andhra Pradesh has milk producing co-operatives. The milk is collected from farmers who are its members, processed and sold in the market by the brand of Visakha Dairy. It is the largest milk co-operative in Andhra Pradesh.[1]
Background
In 1973 Vijaya Visakha Milk Producers Company Ltd started and in 1977 this plant reached 50,000 LPD handling capacity. In 1999 it registered as "Sri Vijaya Visakha District Milk Producers Mutually Aided Cooperative Union Ltd."
In 2006 it was converted as Sri Vijaya Visakha Milk Producers Company Limited.[2]
Turnover
This dairy total turnover is 1,100 crore and it has already expanded their business in Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh and planning to start operations in overseas. [3]
