Srbija Kargo (Serbian Cyrillic: Србија Карго; Anglicized: Serbia Cargo) is the national cargo railway company of Serbia. Srbija Kargo is a member of the International Union of Railways (UIC) since 2016.
History
In March 2015, the Government of Serbia announced its plan to establish three new railway companies, splitting the Serbian Railways in separate businesses - cargo, passenger and infrastructure.[4]
Srbija Kargo was founded on 10 August 2015, as the national cargo railway company, after being split from the Serbian Railways, in the process of reconstruction and better optimization of business.[5]
In May 2018, Srbija Kargo ordered eight Vectron locomotives manufactured by Siemens, worth 32 million euros.[6][7] It also announced that it will overhaul its 1,100 wagons during 2018.[6]
