The Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival is an annual military music event and military tattoo held in Moscow on Red Square. Participating in the festival are Russian and foreign military bands, Folk groups, and the Honor Guard Units of foreign countries. More than 40 countries have taken part in the festival since 2006.[1] It is named after the world-famous Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin.[2]
Its TV partner is TV Centre.
History
- 2006, I Festival, September 2, Poklonnaya Hill: Celebrated the Moscow City Day. The event was seen by more than 50,000 people.[3]
- 2007, II Festival, September 13–16, Red Square: the International Military Music Festival " The Kremlin Zorya - 2007".
- 2009, III Festival, September 5–10, Red Square: the International Military Music Festival "Spasskaya Tower - 2009".

- 2016, X Festival, August 27 – September 4, Red Square: Attended by over a 1,000 musicians.[4] Participating teams include Austria, Greece, EU, Italy, Mongolia, Singapore, Slovenia, Kazakhstan, Japan, Israel, Belarus, Scotland, and Russia.[4][5] The tattoo began with a minute of silence for the 291 victims of the August 2016 Central Italy earthquake.[6]
- 2017, XI Festival, August 26 Red Square:[7] 2017 celebrated the 10th anniversary of the founding of the festival.[8]
- 2018, XI Festival, August 24 – September 2 Red Square: The tattoo was attended by HRH Princess Stephanie of Monaco. The 2018 festival will mark the 10th time that Mireille Mathieu as performed in the festival. It also marked the first time that military bands from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) did not participate in the festival[9][10] It concluded with an awards ceremony which honored the best Russian military band and the best foreign military band.
