South Western Sydney Institute of TAFE

TAFE NSW South Western Sydney Institute (SWSI) now forms part of TAFE NSW, the largest training and education provider in Australia. SWSi and all TAFE NSW Institutes were united as one 'TAFE NSW' in an ongoing process starting in 2017. SWSi training was delivered on-site in the workplace as well as the former institute's ten colleges in Bankstown, Cambelltown, Chullora, Granville, Lidcombe, Liverpool, Macquarie Fields (and Macarthur Building Industry Skills Centre campus), Miller, Padstow and Wetherill Park.The Institute offers training ranging in levels from Certificates (including Trade Certificates) to Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas and Graduate Certificates.

More than 73,000 students are enrolled in more than 700 courses covering industries ranging from Automotive, Transport and Logistics, Building and Construction, ICT, Business and Finance, Community Health and Personal Services, Engineering, Manufacturing and Environmental Sciences, Hospitality, Tourism, Fine Arts, and Design. Students are supported into these areas of training through language, literacy and bridging access courses provided by the Employment Preparation and Vocational Access Faculties.

As a provider of vocational education and training internationally, the Institute has established the delivery of Australian accredited education and training programs in Bangladesh, China, Fiji, Malaysia, Philippines and the United Arab Emirates. The Institute is also the largest provider of the English language and technical training in Sydney’s South West region.
