A former youth international for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prevljak made his senior international debut in 2018.

As a youth, Prevljak played for Igman Konjic and RB Leipzig. He was part of the RB Leipzig team that achieved promotion to the Under 19 Bundesliga for the 2014–15 season.[2]

After impressing in pre-season, he was signed for a two-year contract by RB Leipzig on 1 July 2014 alongside former youth teammate Patrick Strauß.[2] He made his professional debut on 2 August 2014, in a 0–0 draw against VfR Aalen.[3]

On 1 September 2014, Prevljak was assigned to Red Bull Salzburg's feeder club Liefering.[6] On 27 May 2015, Prevljak was voted the best young player of the season in Austrian Second League.[7]

His move to Red Bull Salzburg was made permanent in June 2015.[8] He scored his first goal for the club against Austria Wien on 23 August.[9] Prevljak tore anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee in April 2016, which made him miss almost ten months.[10]

Prevljak was loaned to Mattersburg in June 2017.[11] He scored on his competitive debut for the team in a cup game against Saalfelden.[12] A week later, he also scored on his league debut, in a 2–2 draw against Rapid Wien.[13] Prevljak scored his first hat-trick of the season, and second of his career, on 3 March 2018 against Admira.[14] He finished the season as team's best goalscorer with 18 goals overall, 16 of which came in league, which also made him third best goalscorer of the competition.[15]

After a successful loan spell, Prevljak returned to Red Bull Salzburg, with whom he signed a new contract until June 2022.[16] In the first game upon his return, he scored one of six Red Bull Salzburg's goals in a dominant cup triumph.[17]
