Patson Daka (born 9 October 1998) is a Zambian footballer who plays as a forward for Austrian team FC Red Bull Salzburg and the Zambia national team. He was the 2017 CAF Young player of the year.[1]

Club career

FC Liefering

2016–17 season

1 January 2017, FC Liefering revealed that they had loaned in the 18 year old Zambian striker Patson Daka from Kafue Celtic for the reminder of the season. He finished the season with FC Liefering scoring 2 goals in 9 appearances.

2017–18 season

1 July 2017, Daka was loaned back to FC Liefering to play the season in the Austrian Football First League. This time he was loaned from FC Liefering's farmer club Red Bull Salzburg in the top division.

2016–17 season

At the same time he played for FC Liefering he helped their affiliate club RB Salzburg to win the UEFA Youth League with 2 goals in 2 games. On 30th April, Daka was rewarded with a 5-year contract for his youth team exploits. [2]

2017–18 season

On 24th August, Daka made his competitive debut for Salzburg against FC Viitorul in the UEFA Europa League Qualifiers. Three days later, Daka made his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga as a substitute in the tie against Sturm Graz. He scored his first league goal for RB Salzburg in a home fixture against Austria Vienna in a 2-0 win.
